Our favourite Apps...

Just a little insight into all of us here at Idealogy - a list of our favourite Apps and which platforms we use them on...

Dave Birch:
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Console
Immersive story-driven gameplay that's also beautifully rendered. The interactive social media activity when played in multiplayer online also means I can catch up with my brothers...doing what they love doing. It's also free to talk!

BBC iPlayer
- Multiple Platforms

Great way to catch up on my missed programs. The platform has also recently been updated making it much more intuitive and easy to get to my favourites. Works brilliantly on my new Smart TV and in HD

Jamies Recipes - iPod App
Great recipe app for my iPod Touch. Regular updates means there's always something new to bring to the table. Gives you a simple list of ingredients and step-by-step 'how-to's. Just wish I didn't have to keep wiping flour off my screen!

Paul Skinner:
SKY+ HD - iPhone App
Invaluable when you're away from home and realise something really good is on that you need to record. Still amazes me frankly!

BBC News - iPhone App
Keep up to date with the latest news from the BBC, customisable interface enabling you to choose the news categories that you are most interested in. The quality you would expect from the BBC
itunes.apple.com/gb/app/bbc-news/id377382255?mt=8

French Word of the Day - iPhone App
A new random French word everyday, given its definition (verb, noun, adjective etc), English translation and used in a French sentence...simple but effective...if you're learning French!
------------------------------------------------------------

Simon Dover:
Facebook - Multiple Platforms
Draw Something - iPhone App
Google - iPad App
------------------------------------------------------------

Steve Barnes:
Spotify
- Multiple Platforms
It's revolutionised the way i buy music... as in i don't have to bother anymore (unlucky HMV)

Call of Duty Modern Warfare - X Box
There's nothing quite like playing multiplayer and getting sworn at and humiliated by 12yr olds in the comfort of your own living room

Radio Soulwax - iPhone App
Playlists linked up with specially created animations of the relative album covers, great to listen to and strangely hypnotic to watch
------------------------------------------------------------

Simon Johnson:
Pinterest - Multiple Platforms
I have been drawn into this world and I love it!

Mail - iPhone App
Because I couldn't live without having mobile access to email for both work and pleasure

Battery Doctor - iPhone App
Very useful for keeping the life of batteries extended

------------------------------------------------------------

Anna Ecuyer:
Facebook - iPhone & iPad App
For being nosey and keeping in touch with friends that work abroad

Hipstamatic - iPhone & iPad App
Great because you can add different film types and experiment with photos. I take a lot of pics

BBC iPlayer - Laptop & SmartTV
To catch up on stuff I've missed. I hardly watch 'live' TV at all now
------------------------------------------------------------

Darryl Akerman:
Xbox Kinect
We're not a big 'gamer family' but the kids love the physical interaction with Kinect Sports amongst others

Map my run - iOS
Great for keeping track of how far you've run or ridden

iPhoto - iOS
Not sure if this counts...but I use it all the time
------------------------------------------------------------

Charlotte Blake:
Maps - iPhone App
I find it brilliant when visiting cities as it has a route finder for when you are walking and shows shops/ restaurants and places to visit

Monopoly - iPhone App
My favourite game as a child, it's great to beat the computer at a tactical game

Sneezies - iPhone App
Really fun game, easy to pay and not too taxing on the brain
------------------------------------------------------------

Richard Sprinks
:
Dashboard Command - iPhone App
Allows you to link up with the car's ECU, so you can monitor and track car stats

Tom Tom - iPhone App
This is not cheap but it's an amazing app

World of Warcraft - iOS
I don't play this much these days, but when I do I'm still stunned by the beauty of the cities and landscapes, the size of the world that has been created, complex nature of the game-play and the hooks of the social interaction
------------------------------------------------------------

Shelley Crouch:
Flipboard - iPhone App
Flipboard brings together content I'm interested in and presents it in a magazine format that's engaging to use

Instragram - iPhone App
I'm using Instragram a lot lately. It simple to use and is great for adding a little bit of interest to ordinary snapshots

Shazam - iPhone App
This app is great and 9 times out of 10 it works. Perfect for identifying tracks when you're out
