For example, you may want to automatically save new Instagram snaps directly to Dropbox. In the App’s jargon, you’re creating a ‘personal recipe’ by mixing a trigger (if) and an action (then). Put into practice, it reads:
If any new photos are uploaded to Instagram then add the file to Dropbox.
In the space of one sentence, you’ve saved yourself the task of constantly transferring files and syncing Apps together. Of course, IFTTT isn’t limited to this example – you can also set it to alert you when a particular email subject arrives in your inbox, or ask it to Tweet a blog when it is published.
If this still sounds like too much effort, though, you can always log on the App’s shared recipes pages, where ready-made relationships are yours for the picking.
