Productivity App of The Month - May: Business Calendar

Business Calendar

It’s interesting that putting “of the month” after something suggests that pioneering technological advances are afoot. This month, they’re not. Not even close…

What is it?
Business calendar is an Android App that syncs with your existing Google accounts, meaning your office calendars are never more than a finger swipe away.

Interestingly, developers Appgenix have released two versions of the App onto the Android market – a free (presumably “lite”) version and a full-fat version, priced at £3.99. Both have gone down well with consumers, and it’s not hard to see why.

Featuring a host of different windows and multiple calendar views, BC can help keep all aspects of your professional persona on one screen. From colour coding business meetings and pitches to keeping deadlines on track, the App can break up your day into tiny chunks, and can even let you see how your entire week is shaping up. Basically, it does everything that other calendar apps already do…

So do I need it?
Most office clients such as Lotus notes have an accessible community calendar, which comes as part of an internal email package. So is the tech completely necessary when sold separately? And for whom has the App been developed?

We’d suggest that, if you’re already using an office client, then maybe don’t bother with BC. Sure, the tech is good and the user interface is friendly enough, but you’ve probably got your own internal system already. Instead, SMEs and freelancers may want to take a look at Business Calendar. It makes the most of existing and free-to-use systems such as Google calendars and allows you to take them everywhere.

It may not be groundbreaking, but this month’s top App does a simple job, and does it well…
