Where’s Your Work? Part 1

Well, it’s that time of year again. Students are returning to campus like the proverbial bulls in china shops, overflowing with creative ideas. So for their benefit – and that of all creatives out there – here’s our pick of the best portfolio sites…

BEHANCE (www.behance.net)

It’ll Cost You… Nothing.

Pros in brief…
It’s free (duh). It’s tabular, so everything is clean, simple and in the right place. You can sign up via LinkedIn, Facebook or your Google account, meaning Behance interfaces nicely with some of the most popular contemporary media. In addition, the site’s easy to use plug-in means that many Behance pages end up embedded on LinkedIn profiles.

Room for improvement? Yes. Without the help of LinkedIn, Behance lacks the creative community feel. Sure, you can “appreciate” work, leave comments and follow designers, but this is currently being practiced to a minimum. Maybe it’s just there for the plug-in?..
